Kommt, ihr angefochtnen Sünder,  Eilt und lauft, ihr Adamskinder,  Euer Heiland ruft und schreit!  Kommet, ihr verirrten Schafe,  Stehet auf vom Sündenschlafe,  Denn itzt ist die Gnadenzeit!

Come, you troubled sinners,  hurry and run, you children of Adam,  your saviour calls and cries out to you!  Come, you sheep who have gone astray,  arise from the sleep of your sins,  for now is the time of grace!

 

누가 세상에서 가장 완벽한 음악이 무엇이냐고 묻는 다면 바하의 음악 그 중에서도 종교 칸타타라고 대답을 하고 싶다.

완벽한 구조와 리듬 그리고 가슴을 울리는 가사는 신의 영감이 없으면 불가능 했을 것이다.

비슷한 주제를 다루는 칸타타라도 각각의 곡이 가지는 음율의 독창성은  들으면 들을 수록 그 영감에 놀라게 만든다.

그래서 누군가는 바흐의 음악을 신의 기적이라고 했나 보다.
